One of the areas of focus of a psychologist is counselling. Relying on the materials of the works by Z. Freud and C. Jung, there is made the analysis of the consultee’s dreams. The analysis allows to explore the depths of a person’s subconscious mind, and it is made using associations in the technique of a mandala art therapy.
A mandala art therapy it is a form of art therapy that is used for a human’s dream interpretation, it’s a valid method of working with the unconscious. A client is suggested first to draw a mandala (a picture in a circle) using various symbols. Then a client is looking for associations to the symbols drawn in the mandala.
Then there is interpreted each symbol of the mandala based on the questions running as: ‘What part of me does this image represent?’, ‘What coming events in my life does it point to?’. At the end, there is made an interpretation of the mandala itself, and at the same time there is drawn the line of the dream interpretation.
A few words about a mandala. A mandala is known in the Eastern religions, in particular, in Buddhism. Its creation it is a ritual action. The first who investigated the symbolism of a mandala, was C.G. Jung. He found out that mandala it’s a powerful therapeutic agent, he had been using it in the works created by his patients for discovery of their individuality. Jung analyzed the therapeutic properties of a mandala comparing them to the ritual ones, and it has been found that it is a powerful technique leading to a wholeness and creation of a person’s vital force. There was created the table of interpretations of the symbols of a mandala.
Now let’s talk about dreams. All dreams refer to the area of the unconscious, and many dream-books interpret the symbols that come to us in dreams. For example, if you saw in a dream a fish, this means that you will either become pregnant, or you’re pregnant now and soon you will have a long-awaited baby. If you saw a baby girl in a dream, this means that there is a miracle waiting for you, as well as new affairs. If you just saw a baby, this may be your inner “Self” represented in such unusual way. Z. Freud had been studying dreams. He left behind the invaluable experience in the area of associations and work with the unconscious.
Actually, every person can learn himself/herself to interpret his/her dreams that may point to certain events in a dreamer’s life. What is necessary for this? Everything is simple: you need to keep a “Diary of dreams”.Write down into this diary your dreams and their interpretations based on the information provided by dream-books, creating a consistent picture. A word of advice: it’s necessary to write down your dreams on waking, so that you could remember the minor details. Exactly these details can unlock your inner potential, and become the messengers of the future. Interpret symbols, write down all your feelings, fragments and entire dreams that you remember. Before going to bed say to yourself that you will certainly remember your dreams. We usually are actively seeing dreams during the period from 2 a. m. to 4 a. m.
Interpret your dreams, overwatch the changes, and you will notice how do dreams help you in a real life. Try to create a mandala, interpret dream symbols comprehending the unusual world of the unconscious.
